February Half Term Fun at Wildwood Devon
This February Half Term, rally the pack and journey back in time. Leave the den, step into the wild, and gather together for a half term adventure at Wildwood Devon.
With crackling fires, historical adventures, and woodland trails to explore, it’s the perfect place for families to roam, learn and reconnect outdoors.
The park, which is just outside of Ottery St Mary, on the Escot Estate, is home to more than 40 species of British wildlife, from wolves and wildcats to owls and arctic foxes.
Saxon Village activities
At the heart of the adventure is our Saxon Village, where the pack can fully immerse themselves in life as it once was! Throughout the week, visitors can try their hand at candle making, get creative with Saxon crafts, and test their skills in traditional Saxon games. Each afternoon, gather round for a Saxon talk, bringing history to life through story telling.
We’ll also be cooking up a treat on pancake day!
Something truly special will also be taking shape during the week, as the Saxon Forge is constructed using traditional Saxon methods, offering a rare glimpse into ancient craftsmanship and teamwork.
Adventure trail and the maze
For packs who love to explore, there are plenty of challenges waiting.
Take on the Wolf Trail, where young adventurers can track clues and learn about our native species as they roam the park together, or lose yourselves in the twists and turns of the Wildwood Maze.
Keeper talks
Throughout the week, don’t miss our engaging keeper talks, where you can meet incredible animals and hear directly from the people who care for them every day.
It’s a brilliant way for the whole pack to learn more about wildlife, conservation, and the natural world we’re working to protect.
Indoor play
And if the weather turns and the pack needs a break from the elements, there’s always the indoor play barn, a warm, welcoming space where cubs can burn off energy and keep the adventure going, whatever the skies decide to do!
