The park, which is just outside of Ottery St Mary, on the Escot Estate, is home to more than 40 species of British wildlife, from wolves and wildcats to wildboar and otters.

Nature Quiz Trail

Grab your tickets at the kiosk for the Early Spring Nature Quiz Trail which will clue you on an adventure trail through the 40-acre park. Prizes will await the victors!

Tickets cost £3 and are available on arrival at the kiosk/entrance to the park.

Every day during the week, visitors will also be able to join in with a host of  activities from marshmallow toasting, candle making and Imbolc star making in the historic Saxon Village.

On Tuesday the Saxon Village will be flipping out all day on Shrove Tuesday with pancakes, cooked over an open fire.

On Wednesday evening, to celebrate Valentine's Day, we are offering a special romantic night tour and meal under the stars. This event is bookable online but spaces are limited.

Marshmallows: 50p per marshmallow, roasted to perfection over an open fire in the Saxon Village. Great activity for all. Children to be accompanied and supervised by parents/guardians.

Candle making: £1 or £1.50 to make your own small or big candle.

Imbolc star making: £1 per star

Pancakes:  £1 per pancake plus 50p per topping. Cooked over an open wood fire.

Please bring along cash for these activities. Pay at the Saxon Village entrance.

Imbolc Star and Candle Making activities

There’ll also be a chance for youngsters to try their hand at making an Imbolc star and candles. Both these activities date back hundreds of years ago. Our knowledgeable education officers will be on hand to tell the stories of how these activities originated.

Imbolc star and candle making activities are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.  Sessions run throughout the week at the Saxon Village.
